Exploring Football in this new Analytics Blog: "AnalyVis"

Hello World! My name is Alvis Cheung, I'm a huge football fan with some knowledge in data analytics.

Looking at how the football world is remoulding with the growing use of data, and how cool it is to understand football game in a data perspective, I am excited and will try my best to share unique insights with all of you here in AnalyVis.

Why Football Analytics?

My friends definitely know that, Football Manager was one of my go-to mobile games during secondary school's time. In the game, what I focused on were just the stats and ratings of the players: who is scoring the most goals? who has the highest rating in positioning and tackling? who can I afford to buy?

To be honest, I don't have any fancy strategy in scouting, in tactics, or in analysing any data, I just do what I want in the game. Even so, playing the game since 2012, my interest in football X number emerged.

Why AnalyVis?

Analysis is "the act of studying something in detail, in order to discover or understand more about it", according to Cambridge Dictionary. While visuals help analysis and communication. Combining the two words, together with my name Al"vis"... and BOOM!!! "AnalyVis" is born.
